Southern Hills Warriors Representative Teams Update

The purpose of this post is to provide an update on the Southern Hills Warriors representative teams (i.e. teams made up of players from the following Baseball clubs: Byford, Gosnells, Kalamunda, Kelmscott and Roleystone). For those who are unfamiliar with Southern Hills Warriors, please refer to the information at the bottom of this email.

The current status of each of the representative teams is as follows:

This team competes in the WA State Championships and if successful may move on to compete in the National Championships and then World Series. Brett Hall has been selected as the head coach for this team and try-outs commence Sunday 16th December. Further information will be emailed to all eligible players soon (if not already).

Little League Development Shield Teams
The Development Shield teams are for players who are league age 8, 9,10 or 11 and playing Little League or Machine Pitch at Byford, Gosnells, Kalamunda, Kelmscott or Roleystone. These teams compete in the Development Shield tournament over the Easter long weekend. To date no-one has nominated for any of the coaching roles for these teams. This is not unusual for this time of year and further information will be sent out in regards to these teams in 2019.

To date no-one has nominated for any of the coaching roles for this team. If you are interested in playing in the Intermediate League All-star team please contact myself to express your interest. If we have enough players interested in forming a team we can set to work to find a coach. Note that players who are League age 11 or 12 and competing in Intermediate League may also be eligible for selection in the Little League All-star team (see above).

Southern Hills Warriors Charter
Junior baseball in WA is aligned with Little League International. Under the Little League International system, teams are formed in Charters which are generally based on geographical areas all around the world. In WA, Charters are formed by groups of clubs that are near each other. In our case, Southern Hills Warriors is made up of the following clubs: Byford, Gosnells, Kalamunda, Kelmscott and Roleystone. The clubs that make up a charter can change from time to time. Charters select an All-star team in each age group to compete in the State Championships. Teams that are successful at their State Championships progress to compete in the National Championships. The National Champion Charter All-star team earns the right to compete at the corresponding World Series in the USA.
